Chelsea Football Club has entered into a $20 million-a-year partnership with Amber Group-backed crypto platform WhaleFin. Following the partnership, WhaleFin will be Chelsea Football Club’s official armband partner from the 2022/23 season.
According to Chelsea FC’s official communication on its website and social media pages, the Whales logo featuring the blue whale will be placed on the shirts of Chelsea FC players. The logo will replace the current four-year-old logo of South Korean automaker Hyundai.

The football club also confirmed it was considering a change to its main shirt sponsor Three, a British telecommunications company.
Chelsea FC’s first digital asset partner
As Chelsea Football Club’s first cryptocurrency partnership, the partnership allows Amber Group to introduce WhhaleFin to Chelsea fans around the world.
After announcing the partnership, Chelsea chief executive Guy Lawrence said:
“This is a very exciting partnership for the club and it aligns us with one of the most advanced digital asset companies in the world”
Michael Wu, CEO of Amber Group, said:
“The game’s ability to appeal to a global audience regardless of culture, language and nationality helps promote digital assets.”
This partnership brings Chelsea FC into the world of crypto.
Chelsea Football Club’s main rival Manchester United has announced a multi-year partnership with blockchain group Tezos, whose name will appear on Manchester training gear. On the other hand, Liverpool, another Premier League football club, are also considering replacing their shirt sponsor with Standard Chattered.
