Huobi Launched $1 Billion Investment Vehicle Focused on Web 3 and DeFi

Nearly a decade-old cryptocurrency veteran Huobi has established a new investment arm called Ivy Blocks, which will focus on supporting the growing decentralized finance ecosystem and Web 3-based blockchain protocols.

According to the official press release, the new feature will “focus on identifying and investing in promising blockchain projects to help unlock their growth potential and foster innovation and development in the world of DeFi and Web 3.” Ivy Blocks will manage value, the company said. Over $1 billion in cryptocurrencies. It asserted that the large sum of money would put the investment sector “well-positioned to take advantage of unique opportunities in the market”. The PR says Ivy Blocks will evaluate projects against their ideas and provide them with the necessary tools to succeed. To this end, it will launch three core services, namely the Liquidity Investment Department, Ivy Labs and Ivy Research. The first will be an asset management platform for smart DeFi mining and revenue aggregation, the second will be a crypto and blockchain incubator, and the last will be a research institute focused on blockchain and crypto. Ivy Blocks will rely on all of these to “include liquidity investments, project acceleration support, technical guidance, professional guidance,” and more.
