Multichain, formerly known as Anyswap, has announced its integration with RSK Blockchain, a smart contract platform for merged mining of Bitcoin.
According to a press release shared with CryptoPotato, the integration is designed to facilitate the transfer of ETH, USDC, BUSD and other assets between the RSK, Ethereum and BNB chains. The broader focus of decentralized cross-chain router protocols will be to enable greater access to DeFi on Bitcoin. The team revealed that users will be able to stake their ETH, USDC, BUSD, BNB, WBTC and DAI across the RSK, Ethereum and BNB chains. After development, RSK co-founder Diego Gutiérrez Zaldívar said,
“I am delighted that Multichain has chosen RSK for its first Bitcoin Layer 2. RSK is home to the fastest growing DeFi in the Bitcoin ecosystem, with a protocol that is durable and provides the tools users face in centralized finance. Problems provide real solutions. This is a huge step forward for RSK in terms of interoperability, which means thousands of new users can access these DeFi services.”
Multichain raised $60 million in a seed round led by Binance Labs in December. A month later, the cross-chain protocol suffered a major hack after attackers managed to exploit the vulnerability. As a result, $3 million in cryptocurrency was consumed in the process. However, a white hacker reportedly returned around $813,000 worth of ETH.
