When it comes to blockchain transactions, some mistakes are irreversible and can result in a huge loss. Sadly, crypto investors make these every now and then, as the most recent one is from the owner of Ape #6462, who sold NFTs for $200.
BAYC Holder is selling Ape #6462 for $200
On Sunday, the Twitter account Boredapebot, which posted information on the sale of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) line of Apes, revealed that Ape #6462 was being sold for a mere $200 ($200).
BAYC is one of the most expensive NFT collectibles on the market, and its reserve price is currently 101.75 ETH ($206,000). Considering that Ape #6462 has some of the rarest attributes, including a bone necklace, police motorcycle helmet, and a boring pizza, the recent sale could be another costly mistake.
If so, then it means that the owner thinks he accepted an offer for 200 ETH instead of 200 USDC. It also means the previous owner sold the Ape for 99.9% off the reserve price.
While some crypto users expressed sympathy for the seller, many believed it was a tax evasion scheme given the circumstances of the transaction.
Transaction history on OpenSea shows that NFTs were sold several times for no less than 2 ETH ($7,000) about a year ago. It also shows that since Ape #6462 was minted, it has been transferred between different wallets at least five times.
Additionally, a buyer account on OpenSea was created this month and an offer was accepted within minutes of receiving it.

While one user suggested it could be a very wealthy NFT holder who “sold one of their nephew’s apes for $200,” another said it was an insider work.
Whatever the reason for the transaction, this isn’t the first time BAYC holders have sold Ape for less than its value. Last December, the owner of Ape #3457 made a costly mistake by selling the NFT for $3,000 instead of $300,000.
